Responding to Jeremy Hunt's mini-budget statement, Leader of the Liberal Democrats Ed Davey said:
We are the Liberal Democrat Regional Party covering Cheshire, Cumbria, Lancashire, Merseyside and Greater Manchester. The Region exists to carry out campaigns activities, support our parliamentary representatives and candidates, provide training and mentoring for our dedicated activists and engage members. We also co-ordinate voluntary efforts across the region and run a twice-yearly conference for all North West members.

There was a huge swing to the Lib Dems in yesterday's council byelection in Stockport.

Following the local elections in May 2022, the Liberal Democrats took over the leadership of Stockport council as the largest party, with 28 seats to Labour's 25.
