Huge swing in Stockport

There was a huge swing to the Lib Dems in yesterday's council byelection in Stockport.
In Edgeley & Cheadle Heath, a ward where last time the Lib Dems came third on 8%, we took 38% of the vote - a massive increase.
Labour 1172 (53% - was 72% last time)
Lib Dems 844 (38% - was 8% last time)
Greens 200 (9% - was 8% last time)
Congratulations to our team there - running Stockport council as a minority administration - and especially to candidate Robbie Cowbury.
