Liberal Democrats in the North West celebrated a brace of wins in yesterday's council byelections.

In Penrith we gained a Town Council seat from Labour with more than half the vote:

Liberal Democrat (Alex Deacon): 225 (55.3%)
Reform UK: 140 (34.4%)
Green Party: 42 (10.3%)

Meanwhile in Pendle we held a Borough Council seat with an increased share of the vote in Barnoldswick:

Liberal Democrats (Bryony Hartley): 1008 (59.8%, +1.5)
Reform UK: 441 (26.2%, new)
Conservative: 170 (10.1%, -11.7)
Labour: 66 (3.9%, -11.1)

Congratulations to new councillors Bryony and Alex, and thanks to everyone who voted for either of them or helped in our Penrith and Barnoldswick campaigns.
