The Liberal Democrats are pleased to announce that everyone in the North West will have the chance to back the Liberal Democrats in this May's record round of local elelctions.

The Liberal Democrats are standing in every one of the Police and Crime commissioner and Metro Mayor elections as well as the 2 city Mayor elections in Liverpool and Salford.

Liberal Democrats are also running in more than 70% of the record number of local elections taking place on the 6th of May, so more residents across the north west will have the chance to back their local Liberal Democrats fighting for their area in Town and City halls across the North West.

More than 80% of voters in Greater Manchester will be able to vote for Liberal Democrats on both ballots, as well as 70% of those on Merseyside. The Liberal Democrats are fielding candidates in the many by elections across Cheshire and Cumbria as well as fielding the largest field of candidates in more than a decade in Lancashires County Council elections this May.

Cllr Jane Brophy, former MEP for the North West and Chair of the North West Liberal Democrats, said "I have been a local Councillor for more than 20 years and I have seen the difference my Liberal Democrat colleagues across the region make to their areas year in year out, working tirelessly unlike the other paries who only show up at election time. I am delighted that everyone in the North West has the chance to vote Liberal Democrat this May as we have shown over the last few years we are the real challengers to Labour and the Conservatives in our Region. Back your local Lib Dem team for a community champion to fight for your area and real change in your local council."
